Hawaii 2013 - Day 9

Honolulu

It was bittersweet getting off the ship...it was so much fun.  But there is more fun to be had!  Today it's all about Honolulu.  Our first stop is the Iolani Palace, ca. 1882.  It was beautiful and had some really neat architectural elements.

We had to put these booties on before entering the palace

Next on to the Hawaii State Capitol.  I have a thing about visiting every State Capitol that I possibly can!

Next on to the Kawaiahao Church, considered the Mother Church of Hawaii.

There was a wedding going on while we were visiting!
 The Chapel
And right down the road is Aliiolani Hale, home to Hawaii's Supreme Court.
Statue of King Kamehameha, the founder and first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
Final stop was to the Punchbowl Crater and the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

There were many displays like this showing the different battles fought in the Pacific area and where many of the dead that are buried here fought.

That evening we strolled downtown where there was quite a bit of action going on.
